The Legend of Telaga Warna by Arizka Dwi Cintami

Once upon a time, there was an empire in West Java. The kingdom was ruled by a king named Rama Surya.

Rama is a good king and wise king. But it's unfortunate that the king and queen don't have children. The queen often cries. That is why Rama went to the forest. There he prayed to God every day, begging for children.

A few months later, the queen became pregnant. Nine months later, a daughter was born. Raja Rama and Ratu love their beautiful daughter. They give whatever they want. That made Princess turn into a very spoiled girl.

One day, the princess celebrated her 17th birthday party. Many people gathered in the palace. Then, Rama took a necklace made of gold and gems.

"My beloved daughter, today I give this necklace. Please, wear this necklace, "said Rama.

"I don't want to wear it! It's ugly! "Shouted the princess. Then he threw the necklace. The beautiful necklace is broken. Gold and jewelry are spread on the floor. Everyone can't say anything. They never thought that their beloved daughter would do something cruel. In their silence, people heard the queen crying. Every woman feels sad and starts crying. Then, everyone cries. Then, there is a miracle. Earth crying.

Suddenly, from the ground, springs appeared. That makes puddles. Soon, this place became a big lake. The lake finally sank into the kingdom.

At present, people called lakes "Telaga Warna". This means "Color Lake". On a clear day, the lake is colorful. These colors come from the shadow of the forest, plants, flowers, and the sky around the lake. But some people say that the color is from a princess necklace, which spreads at the bottom of the lake.
